BLUEBELLA'S BARCELONA BEST BITES...

[Competition is now closed]

Tempted to enter our Barcelona giveaway? Here's why...

As part of our #bluebellaloves series, we're running our biggest ever giveaway and giving one lucky Bluebella fan a weekend away to the Catalonian capital of culture, Barcelona! Think of it as a pre-Christmas treat to yourself! But why did we pick Barcelona? Not only because Bluebella and Barcelona has lots in common - we're both exciting, spirited and beautiful - but also because Barcelona is packed full of amazing things to do.

Here we run down our best bites of Barcelona and after you've read it, we guarantee that you'll be more than tempted to enter our giveaway!

HOTEL PULITZER

Our giveaway wouldn't be a proper giveaway without an ultra chic hotel for you to relax and unwind in and Hotel Pulitzer is one of our favourites. Being a destination in its own right, the boutique hotel is nestled in the heart of buzzing Barcelona, a stone's throw away from Plaza Catalunya. With an awesome location surrounded by the best cultural attractions and the most exclusive shopping, it's also at the hub of the city's transport network making it super easy to get around. Make sure you enjoy the hotel's bar and terrace before you head out to paint the town red.

FILL UP ON TAPAS

It may sound cliche, but Barcelona really does offer some of the best Tapas in the world. If you're a foodie aficionado, then you'll love the array of local cuisine, fine wines and sloshes of Sangria. As in any place away from home, it's always better do it like the locals and some of the best you'll taste are hidden gems tucked away where the tourists don't see them. Top choices include Morryssom, which is always packed full of locals enjoying the late afternoon sunshine (the best time is after the lunchtime rush) and Tossa. Even though the latter is located near the Sagrada Familia church, it's never busy with tourists and its relaxing terrace provides the perfect place to rest your weary legs after a long day's walking.

EXPLORE THE RAVAL

If you're into literary, then Barcelona has lots of history. Many a writer has been inspired by the lower Raval, which was once the underworld of the city. Now it's full of hipsters and even though it still retains its historic past, it is now a hub for urban culture, music and good food. Here is where some of the city's essential cultural nourishment thrives, including Barcelona's Contemporary Culture Centre, the city's Contemporary Art museum and the library. If you want to mix with the trendiest locals, then this is the area for you.

MUSIC LOVERS

If you love live music, then Barcelona caters from everyone; from classic concerts to the best festivals. It boasts some of the most wonderful, breathtaking concert halls in Europe, including the Gran Teatre del Liceu which is decorated with luxurious gold leaf, plush red carpets and ornate carvings. A tip is to check out the programmes as shows aren't always as expensive as you think. The Palau de la Musica Catalana is another must visit, celebrated for its modernist architecture. However, if you're more of a festival kinda girl, then Primavera Sound and Sonar are two of the biggest, internationally renowned music festivals in the world. There really is tons to choose from!

BARCELONA WITH A VIEW

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city then heading upwards to one of Barcelona's many viewing points will allow you to breath in all of Barcelona in all of its glory. Many restaurants, parks and monuments provide vista points where you can take everything in from above and allow for a full picture of just how colourful and vibrant the city is. If you want to head where there's less tourists, head to Mountjuic Mountain which is the perfect place for a leafy stroll and stunning views.
